Black and Proud

Persevere to overcome all difficulties.

A Black Belt is not a magic bullet. It's a badge of effort and hope. Wearing it simply acknowledges what you've invested of yourself, and what you value in life. Simply said, but all encompassing.

Indomitable spirit means to have the courage to stand up for what you believe in.

Many people have the mistaken idea that attending a few classes will increase confidence. Real confidence comes from constantly working on your strengths, facing your fears, and understanding your weaknesses.

Developing the right skills and sharing the right information to avoid conflict.

All people struggle to make sense of the world ... especially so in times of difficulty. This is a struggle a Black Belt is very familiar with. On his side is systematic training on one hand and conflict resolution experience on the other. This is applied not only in the kwan or school, but to all aspects of life. This experience is always shared openly without reservation.
